Timber Joinery Product Advisory & Warranty Information

At Lion’s Den Timber & Joinery, we take pride in the quality of our craftsmanship. To help customers make informed decisions, the following advisory outlines how our warranty applies to timber joinery products such as doors, windows, and custom‐made pieces.

Warranty Coverage

Our timber joinery products are covered against defects in manufacturing and structural integrity for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase or installation. Coverage includes:

  • Faults resulting from poor workmanship during the manufacturing process.

  • Structural failures occurring under normal use and conditions (excluding environmental factors listed below).

Where a genuine manufacturing defect is identified within the warranty period, Lion’s Den Timber & Joinery may repair, replace, or refund the product following inspection and verification.

Exclusions

Because timber is a natural material, the following are not covered under warranty:

  • Natural movement of timber—including expansion, contraction, warping, or seasonal shifting caused by humidity, temperature, weather exposure, or moisture.

  • Up to 2150mm Height a 5mm bow or warp is generally acceptable and not seen as a defect. 2150 - 2400mm Height allows for a 7mm bow/warp and is not considered a defect.

  • Damage caused by improper or insufficient maintenance, including failure to maintain protective coatings such as paint, varnish, or sealants.

  • Issues arising from misuse, neglect, poor installation practices via a 3rd party, alterations, accidents, or exposure to extreme environmental conditions (e.g., direct weathering, high moisture, inadequate ventilation).

  • Cosmetic changes such as fading, discolouration, or minor surface imperfections that do not affect structural performance.

  • Any consequential costs, including labour, installation, or other indirect expenses.

Client Responsibilities & Maintenance Requirements

To ensure longevity and maintain warranty eligibility, customers are responsible for:

  • Maintaining protective coatings (paint, varnish, sealants) and reapplying them as required by manufacturer guidelines or at least annually depending on environmental exposure.

  • Addressing sticking, binding, or tightness in doors or operational components promptly by adjusting or easing the affected areas.

  • Providing a suitable environment for the product, including good ventilation and protection from direct weather where possible.

  • Following any care or maintenance instructions supplied at the time of purchase.

Failure to follow required maintenance may void warranty coverage.

Making a Warranty Enquiry

If you believe a product may have a manufacturing or structural defect covered under our warranty:

  1. Contact us within the warranty period at timber.joinery@lionsdenenterprises.com.au and provide proof of purchase, photos of the issue, and a brief description.

  2. An on-site inspection or return of the product may be required for assessment.

  3. Claims related to natural timber movement or lack of maintenance cannot be accepted.
